Fifty years ago this July, my sister Misty Carol passed. She was three.

Fifty years later, my dad walks out to the mound at Dell Diamond on Saturday, July 11 and throws the first pitch — for the families behind him in the stands raising kids and adults with special needs. The night before, Friday, July 10, we open the gates. Two nights. Sensory room. Sensory bags. Trained staff. A stadium that finally gets it.

This is what we've been building toward. May 18 is the deadline to lock it in. Every gift, every share, every family who registers gets us closer.

And for The Misty Carol Project, today is personal.

This organization exists because of a little girl named Misty Carol — my sister — who was born with Down syndrome and the biggest heart you've ever seen. She only had three years on this earth, but she left a mark on our family that never faded.

Decades later, she came to me in a dream and said *"little brother, it's time to go to work."*

So here we are. Working. 🧡

To every person with Down syndrome — you are not defined by a diagnosis. You are defined by the joy you bring, the love you give, and the lives you change just by being in them.

To every family walking this road — you are not alone. There are people out here who see you, who get it, and who are fighting to make your path a little easier.
