Got a quick disentanglement done today. Vessel found a string of crab pots in the Cape Fear river and almost had it all cleared. I got under and found that a knot was the only thing holding the marker from being free. I ended up leaving the recovered pot on the dock hoping that the owner will come recover their gear.

“Good” visibility in the Cape Fear River today, unfortunate news for the customer. What looks like brass on the prop shaft is the cutless bearing and it has moved out of place. It should be completely inside the housing/shaft bracket. Water temperature is about 60 degrees out right now.
