“Hey, Popcorn here!”

Ever think about working concessions at Fenway, Gillette Stadium, or the Boston Garden? “No,” I don’t blame you. It’s TOO BIG. Well, here’s your chance to have just as much fun but at a much smaller venue – the Aleppo Concessions. You may not know that the Aleppo Stewards also run the concession stand in front of the kitchen selling popcorn, ice cream, soda, etc. The Concession stand is similar to concession stands for see at youth sporting groups or a community events.

Never worked a concession stand. No worries, training will be provided. You will be on your feet most of the time but, it IS fun, and you will be fed. If you would like to spend a little time at our Concession Stand, helping Aleppo, helping our charity, AND receive unlimited pay (popcorn & pretzels!!).

How about helping out the Aleppo Stewards and sign up to work a few shows. The Concession stand could use your help. Just a side note: If you are a member of a Unit, you do not have to leave your Unit to help out. You remain a member of your Unit while helping with the Stewards tasks.

But wait . . .there’s more! If you want to do more or something a little different, Chief Steward, John Maihos is also looking for a couple people to help feed the team at parades. A big shout out to Noble Freddie Correia for another successful annual Trunk or Treat & Touch a Truck event today at Aleppo Temple! Once again thousands of members of the public were welcomed in free of charge as Nobles and friends decorated their vehicles to pass out candy and treats while local first responders and others made an array of vehicles available outside for kids to explore!

Shriners Children's Boston is grateful for Spirit Halloween's Spirit of Children program. With their help, our patients enjoyed a festive afternoon of costumes, crafts and Halloween fun. 🎃👻

Beyond creating special moments like these, Spirit of Children also supports our child life team through generous donations to help create a more comforting experience for patients throughout their care journey.

From the Aleppo Archives: 1922 ribbon

Here's an interesting find; this is a great example showing that Imperial Sessions were not just national conventions, they were hosted by individual temples and were often a sense of pride. Islam Temple (now Asiya Temple) in San Francisco was always a proud host, and we find many pieces related to the 1922 and 1932 Imperial Sessions. We also always enjoy finding old ribbons as due to the fragile nature of silk as it ages, fewer and fewer survive. This is why we must always not only consider the historical nature of the collection, but also the physical.

This past Sunday, the uniformed units marched in the East Boston Italian Heritage Parade. It was a long march, but the rain held off just long enough!

Kids ages 14 and under will get to Trick or Treat in a safe environment full of decorated vehicles with trunks full of treats. Come dressed in your costume

CALLING ALL HOLIDAY ENTHUSIASTS AND DECORATING FANATICS

Please consider volunteering to help transform our Auditorium into a Winter Wonderland Extravaganza….

The Feztival of Trees set up days are from November 9th - 13th with the Feztival open to the public November 14 & 15

PLEASE CONSIDER VOLUNTEERING TO SET UP STARTING MONDAY 11/9 AND CONTINUING THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE WEEK.

Event Volunteers are needed for the following areas:

Children’s Corner with easy crafts
Children’s bounce house area
Snowflake Café for lunch and light snacks
Entrance Door Ticket Sales
Tree Raffle Ticket Sales
Monitoring of decorated trees throughout the event
Santa’s Village/Photo Area
Volunteer Sign In Desk
