Welcome to Cape Fear Wooden Boat Co! We are looking to start up and manage a weekly “Build your own boat class” in Wilmington N.C. The boats built in the classes will be from professionally designed and manufactured stitch and glue wooden boat kits. The kits will include canoes, kayaks, small sailing and rowing boats. Classes will be for all ages and skill levels and a great family and team building experience. The availability and cost of the classes will hopefully be available soon as we start to generate interest in the program. We welcome you to message us with your feedback on taking a wooden boat building class!

Custom one off flat top hollow body electric guitar. (SOLD)

This is a uniquely built custom electric guitar. The construction method is similar to that of an acoustic guitar by utilizing thin back and sides and glued linings. The body was not carved out of a chunk of wood by a CNC router. The sides and linings were bent by hand. The linings then laminated to the sides. The body then clamped and glued together. The western red cedar top is braced with two thick black walnut braces running the length of the top. The walnut braces accept the load/tension of the bridge and Bigsby vibrato. The result is a clear full tone with lasting sustain.

The nut material is bone and is 1 9/16" in width. The narrower nut width (standard nut with is 1 11/16") lends itself to faster lead and solo playing. I really like the way neck feels at the volute at the 1 9/16" width. It is a one of a kind, one off instrument that I designed and built. This guitar has a rich full voice, low action and unique look.

Octave Mandolin (SOLD)

It is tuned an octave lower than your traditional mandolin giving it a rich acoustic guitar sound. It has a slim and comfortable 2.25" body thickness. The 23" scale length gives it a warm and inviting voice. The Sitka spruce top is braced with the Taylor style V bracing resulting in notes that are clear and full. Pick guard and strap buttons can be added per request.
