Freedom Boat Club Freedom Boat Club is the world's largest members-only boat club with over 400 locations worldwide. Freedom Boat Club was first founded in 1989 in Sarasota, FL.

It is the oldest and largest boat club in the nation. The vision and purpose in establishing the boat club model was simple and straightforward - to deliver a simple recreational boating experience for its members.

Safe Boating Week is all about being prepared 🛟

Here are the 5 safety items that come standard on every Freedom Boat Club vessel:

✅ Fire extinguisher
✅ Safety box with signaling devices
✅ VHF radio
✅ Throwable flotation device
✅ Life jackets for every passenger

To help keep Safe Boating Week going year-round, we continually practices safe docking procedures along with safe boarding and exiting techniques, which is where most accidents happen on the water.

We’re partnering with BoatClass for to share actionable safe boating tips! All week long, we’ll be breaking down simple steps to help you and others stay safe on the water.

We’re kicking things off with one of the most important (and often overlooked) safety tools: the safety lanyard.

🔑 What it is: A cord that connects the boat’s engine shut-off switch to the operator
⚙️ What it does: Stops the engine if the operator is thrown from the helm
✅ Why it matters: Prevents runaway boats and reduces the risk of serious injury

Clipping in before getting underway is a small action that can save lives.
