Hey friends! Willmar Bus Service is hiring a couple of van drivers (and school bus). If you’d like a part time job taking kiddos to and from school let us know. Come on down to Willmar Bus at 1308 7th St SE or give us a call at 320-235-2110. All you need is a current class D license, background check, pre-employment drug test and a DOT health card. We’ll do all of the training and get you ready to go!!

Willmar Bus will provide all the training necessary to get you your School Bus license. We are flexible and family oriented. There are several ways that you can drive for us - Type 3 van driver, Small special ed bus, full size school bus and coach bus (if requirements are met). You can choose to drive a morning Rte- a midday Rte - an afternoon Rte and field trips or all of thee above. The choice is yours.
Are you a farmer and can only drive between harvest and planting? That works too!

We are hiring a FULL TIME Safety Director/Trainer ⛑️🚌

Applicant must:
*Be reliable
*Be friendly
*Enjoy working with people and children
*Be a team player
*Be self motivated
*Good communication skills
*Have some computer skills
(Excel, Google Docs, Word etc)
*Be flexible
*Be willing to learn multiple tasks to be able to assist where needed
*Be able to work in a sometimes fast paced environment
*Be willing to get licensed to drive a school bus

Job details include both in & out of office tasks. 💻🚌

*Occasionally drive a bus or van route
*Help keep routes up to date
*Train in new drivers prior to licensing
*Monthly training meetings for all drivers
*Keep up on any laws pertaining to busing
*Working with different school admin in regard to discipline on the buses
*Working with the local Police Department in regard to stop atm violations
*Help answer phones
*Other tasks as assigned

*$20.00-$24.00 per/hr depending on experience

Yesterday our drivers drove with caution and did their best to get kiddos to where they needed to be safely. We are so proud of our drivers everyday! Our drivers take their job to heart and do their best daily to make sure kids are safely transported too and from school.

Hey Everyone -
There always seems to be some confusion as far as when a vehicle needs to stop for a bus. Hopefully this will help explain it a little better. We get plenty of Stop arm violations weekly (sometimes daily). Please watch for the yellow and then Red flashing lights.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Lyle has worked for Willmar Bus Service since 2024. Lyle is qualified and has driven all our vehicles including mini vans, small special ed buses, and full-sized school buses along with our coach buses. Lyle’s day-to-day route is on a small special ed bus.
Lyle’s favorite part of his job is the customer’s he meets on trips, the students he transports and the school staff and the Willmar Bus staff.
Lyle’s advice for new hires is, “Take it slow. Turn it wide. Watch out for big rocks and make it all about the passengers”.
Prior to working for Willmar Bus, Lyle was an Engineer for off-road equipment for 38 years. Now he drives and teaches at the college level.
Some of Lyle’s hobbies include music, theatre, fishing and sports.
Other fun facts about Lyle are that he likes to see other places. His previous line of work took him to every continent but Antarctica. He has seven states left to fill his “dance” card, but he always loves to come back home.
