A couple of things with this crazy winter:
1. Please do not attempt to come into the parking lot if it is white! Right now it is a solid sheet of ice!
It doesn't matter whether you are turning around or doing your child swaps between parents. THE RESULTS OF COMING IN, WILL BE YOU AND YOUR VEHICLES IN THE LAKE, AND NO WAY FOR RESCUE.
2. I don't know whether we have drivers not paying attention or if we need a crossing guard for the deer, but we have had yet another accident between the lake entrance and the curve.

Summer Hours are now in effect. 7am to 5pm. Tournament days will open at 6am. Please note that if I have Dr appointments or shopping, my day closed will vary. If in doubt, call first. Good morning, Fishing persons,
The Bait Shop now has live bait. Minnows, Nightcrawlers, and Redworms. Wax and Meal worms aren't available yet. The lake is full, at least for the time being. Spring hours are 8 am until 4pm. Weekends opening will be earlier. Tournament days start earlier. As daylight increases so will the open/closing times.

There are a 'few' changes this year.
1. As pointed out at the Willisburg City Council Meeting - There is no access to cross or fish from the 100-foot City easement, for any reason. The city states that this is "trespassing". No boats, canoes, or kayaks can be launched this year from city property. All have to be launched at the Marina. This also means that you cannot take your boats from the marina and tie them up to the shore and cross to access home owner properties. It also means that the ONLY bank fishing is at the marina along the dam.

2. For several reasons, there are not going to be any rental boats this year. All rental boats will be for sale, please contact Carla at 502-680-2298 if you are interested in purchasing one of these.
Kayaks will still be rented.

3. There is to be NO ALCOHOL at the lake. Sorry, city ordinance was pointed out at the March council meeting. This includes ALL of the city property, Marina, lake, campground etc.

4. I will be arranging a 'volunteer work day' for assistance with repairs. If you would like to help, please contact me at 502-680-2298. All volunteers will be and are greatly appreciated.

We look forward to a great fishing and camping year. If you are looking for a campsite, just call. I have a few 30-amp service sites and one 50-amp site available.

Well with the thanks to Helena (5" in rain gauge) the lake has come up about 1 1/2 boards on the spillway. The Big side of the launch ramp has been reopened. At the rate of water Springfield takes on a daily basis, without additional rain, I cannot say how long until only the ramp by the bait shop will be the only one open, once again. That one will remain open, year around, as per the City's instructions, so please if you have any questions or want an opinion for use, just ask Carla. And because of the remnants of the Hurricane our bait distributor will not be making a run until next week.

This morning this sweet intact older male beagle wandered into the bait shop. Very skinny and fragrant. He appears to be housebroken, has a collar with a broken leash snap attached to it, sadly no tags. If anyone knows who he belongs to please have them call Carla at 502-680-2298.

Sadly, it appears that every Spring I need to clarify the rules of the lake, for those who do not or choose not to read the City of Willisburg's posted rules by the Launch Ramps. THERE ARE NO JET-SKIS ALLOWED ON WILLISBURG LAKE. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THE MODEL IS OR ITS PRIMARY USE IS DESIGNED FOR. No means No! Thank you for your cooperation, this is for the safety of all who use the lake.

I'd personally love to thank each and every one of you that had supported me last year and continue to support me, through all of the antics and surprises.
I am recovering nicely from my emergency back surgery last December.
I am looking forward to this year and EVERYONE being able to enjoy the lake. Now if only Mother Nature cooperates with the weather, lol.
We have launch passes available for the frequent fishers. Don't forget to ask about the Big Fish Contest.
The Crappie are starting to bite, Bass tournament last weekend was a success and had some nice winning weights. We have live bait and as always, the coffee pot is on for a free cup of coffee.
