It's a busy time of year for sure. School is starting. Travel Ball seasons are starting. Fall School Sports are underway. Don't forget about your poor ball glove that has been soaking up nothing but dust for the last 5 months. Just getting dry, and cracked, and about ready to break. A quick in-season turnaround for this member of the Laingsburg Wolfpack. Nothing wrong with the glove, other than the boring black laces with the black glove. This glove was picked up on Friday night and done and completed on Sunday morning in time for her game on Monday.

The red laces match the school colors and this hard-working player is the envy of the whole team.

This former player has come a long way in her softball career since I coached her when she was 10 and 11. I've loved watching her grow and turn into a soon-to-be highly-recruited superstar.

Her glove, well, not so much. You know at the end of ET when they find him in the river and he's all white and dry and on the verge of death? This was that glove. Dry, cracked, laces broken, stretched and it kept quietly moaning"Elliot". It was an honor to get it nice and clean, shiny with some conditioner and new Navy Blue and Red laces to match, what I can only guess were the original colors of the glove. This glove should last her right through her future, stunning college career (with some TLC from me, of course).

There is an epidemic of ballplayers not taking care of their gloves. They don’t clean them, they don’t condition them, they don’t keep a ball in it at all times.

To bring awareness to this problem and to punish those that abuse their gloves, I will be making the sun disappear this afternoon for a few minutes.

This is what I'm talking about!!!! The brand new White Rawlings Legacy First basement was purchased by an Eaton Rapids Greyhound and came with (yawn) white laces. So boring.

She chose some great colors: Smoke Grey, Passion Pink, and Carolina Blue, which makes this glove really stick out. The grey with the brighter colors gives a really nice contrast.

This Varsity Freshman player will be looking great this season.

I love how this glove turned out for this Lansing Community College Star. The main issue with this glove was that the velcro had come off on the strap that tightens it at the hand. So I picked it up on Wednesday evening, dropped it off to get the velcro fixed, and ordered the very cool laces she picked out.

The Velcro was done by Tuesday and the laces come in as well. I worked on it Wednesday night and it was dropped off on Thursday, in time for her to leave for Florida to play ball for a few weeks.

The gold she chose to put on this light beige Mizuno turned out amazing and is a unique glove. It was a privilege to do this one that eventually competed in college athletics.

Consider this as a warning!! What happens when you don't clean and oil your glove, especially your laces?

They get dry from the dirt and the sun. They get brittle. And then, out of nowhere, when you least expect it: THEY BREAK!!!!!!!! Maybe it happens in the bottom of the final inning on a ground ball to end the game. Maybe it happens and then breaks up a pitcher's perfect game. You never know.

Then you will be forced to ZIP TIE your glove together (how embarrassing) until you can get it to me for an emergency repair.

This glove came to me on a Sunday night and luckily I had time to get it back to the baseball player the next day. I happily snipped off the zip ties, replaced the beige laces with all black, got it nice, clean, and oiled, and even got the yellow stitching in the logos to shine bright again. This glove has been the closest I've had to "as good as new yet".

This was another "My daughter hates the new glove we bought her and won't use it. Can you fix her old glove?" request.

I was happy to get this Rawlings Liberty Advanced back to game-ready status and extend its life. This glove has over 25 feet of lacing due to the intricacies of the webbing.

Shipping out and returning like 10 gloves I worked on this weekend just in time for High School Baseball/Softball tryouts.
