A Mexico Decaf is now available on both coasts 🇲🇽🙌

Rio Blanco EA Decaf is a blend of lots from Veracruz, decaffeinated with ethyl acetate, a naturally occurring compound derived from molasses that bonds specifically with caffeine molecules and pulls them out, leaving most of the flavour intact. No harsh solvents, no steam stripping the cup bare.

What you get is a decaf that actually tastes like the coffee it came from. Chocolaty, sugary. YUM 😋

Founded in 1962 and now 10,000 members strong, Coopeagri is Costa Rica’s largest cooperative. They produce their own organic fertilizer, provide agronomical support programmes to producers and even have a café showcasing what their members grow. Pretty much doing everything to improve farmers' livelihoods for over 60 years 🌱

Don Claudio is their fully washed lot from San Isidro de El General, chosen for altitude, climate and cup quality. It's floral and chocolaty, with some delicious walnut notes.

Fresh off QC cupping results: La Orquidea Organic tastes like 🍋, 🍎, 🍐, stone fruit, milk chocolate, floral... we didn't have all the emojis but a bunch of good stuff, basically.

Quick backstory on this one: back in 2014, 10 producers in Planadas, Tolima decided to take matters into their own hands and founded Asoprocafees. 💪Not an easy feat in a region that spent years dealing with guerrilla violence, but peace has been restored and this cooperative is now 50+ members strong, Fairtrade Organic certified and thriving. Warehouses built, roads improved, farmers trained. The real deal 💚

Jamie's post-event dispatch is back and this time she's reporting from this year's SCTA Coffee Forum & Dinner, the Swiss Coffee Association's annual event bringing together the global coffee community 🌍

Last week, Jamie was in Montreux and she says that for the first time in two years, something other than EUDR was the hot topic at SCTA. It was literally heat 🌡️ More specifically, El Niño and its potential impact on global coffee production had everyone talking.

The vibe was also noticeably different from the last two forums which were, in her words, "dogged by EUDR switcharoos, record-breaking prices and Brazil crop fears." This year: postcard views of Lake Geneva, casino wins and pretty high spirits.✨

Her full take covers certified stock uncertainty ahead of December, why Brazil's 26/27 surplus feels like a long time coming and why East Africa is increasingly the answer when Colombia and Central America get tight.

Last month, 300 people filled Studio B in Boston to watch 36 competitors press their way to a spot at the World AeroPress Championship in Mexico City this December. Aaand our Serena was on the judging panel 🔎(look at us, all proud!)

Half the room was convinced the mistery coffee was a Kenya. Plot twist... it was an Ethiopia Ayla Bombe 😎

Huge congrats to the winner and big big love to for putting together one of the best nights we've been part of in a while 🙌

Our team is back at it 🎨 If you remember from last year, adding printed info on jute bags in Burundi is tricky due to local regulations, so the team invited local artists to create coffee-inspired illustrations, got a local co-op to print them and stitched them right onto the bags.

This year there are three👌 one for each processing method, meaning that your washed, natural and fermented lots each arrive with their own piece of art 🪡
