What could possibly be better on a gloomy Thursday morning? Spending it with 100 of your closest friends at the Wichita Airport Authority annual town hall, of course!

From pancakes to prizes, we celebrated our employees, reflected on some big wins from the past year, and looked ahead to what’s next. Plus, we heard from two of our great community partners, United Way of the Plains and WSU Tech!

Our team also had the opportunity to meet City of Wichita- Government’s new(ish) City Manager and new Fire Chief and hear from them as they settle into Wichita and their roles.

Not a bad way to spend a Thursday morning. 🥞🎉

A hero’s welcome.

The Kansas Honor Flight returned home to Wichita with a special water cannon salute honoring the veterans on board and their service to our country.

It’s always a privilege to be part of their journey and help welcome them home. ❤️🤍💙

There’s nothing quite like an Honor Flight welcome home.

ICT was proud to welcome home our Kansas Honor Flight veterans after their trip to Washington, D.C., where they had the opportunity to visit the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice.

Thank you to everyone who came out to fill the terminal, wave flags, cheer and give these heroes the homecoming they deserve. Most importantly, to our veterans: welcome home, and thank you for your service.

Due to the continued increased demand, US Customs and Border Protection will be conducting another pop up Global Entry event on September 9 and 10 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at their facility (1700 S. Airport Road, Wichita, KS 67209). While parking is free, it is limited.

Only applicants that are conditionally approved and have an appointment will be seen. Ensure you have your passport and a proof of current address for your designated appointment time. You must have an appointment through the TTP system to obtain an interview. No walk ins will be processed.

Happy Labor Day! Today, we celebrate the hardworking people who keep our community and our airport moving every day.

ICT remains open and ready to welcome travelers, but airport administrative offices will be closed today, Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

Whether you're traveling, relaxing or enjoying one last summer getaway, we wish you a safe and happy Labor Day!

It’s Be Late for Something Day, so go ahead. Be late for something today. Just don’t make it your flight. 😉✈️

We’ve all heard someone brag about getting to their gate at the absolute last second. Even some of our airport staff admit they’ve cut it a little too close before.

So, how early do you really need to arrive when flying out of ICT?

Our favorite answer: Give yourself enough time to feel comfortable and relaxed. But if you want a number, we recommend arriving at least 90 minutes before your flight.

A few things to keep in mind:
✈️ Checking a bag? Some airlines require bags to be checked at least 45 minutes before departure.
🪪 Don’t have a REAL ID or another acceptable form of identification? Build in extra time for ID verification.
🌙 Flying late at night? The TSA checkpoint isn’t open 24/7, so make sure you arrive with plenty of time to clear security.

Be late for dinner. Be late returning that text. Be late starting the laundry.

Just don’t be late for your flight.

September is National Preparedness Month, and in Kansas, being prepared means being ready for just about anything Mother Nature throws our way.

It may still feel like summer outside, but fall weather, and eventually winter, is right around the corner. If you’re flying during Kansas’ ever-changing weather seasons, keep an eye on the forecast, check your airline’s app for updates, and give yourself plenty of time to get to ICT.

A little preparation can go a long way toward a smoother travel day! ✈️

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will host a Global Entry Enrollment Event on September 5 at Eisenhower National Airport in Wichita. Global Entry is a CBP program that provides expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers entering the United States. Members can quickly complete the entry process using Global Entry technology available at select airports nationwide.

This enrollment event is for applicants who have already received conditional approval and need to complete their in-person interview to finalize their enrollment. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

All appointments will take place at Wichita Eisenhower National Airport in the mezzanine-level conference rooms. Parking is available in the Short-Term Lot, located directly across from the terminal, and is free for the first 60 minutes.
