John & Jean’s Shorehouse Welcome sign. I finally completed our welcome sign. The sign took much more time than I anticipated. The 3D Seagul took some time but the bulk of the time was the texture I designed and chose to use. The texture pass alone took 6 hours. I chose to texture the background rather than the letters to give it a water like look. I learned a few things along the road but I think it turned out pretty good. I am waiting to hear if the the boss likes it. I used 1.5” HUD sign material as the substrate which is impervious to weather. This is so important to stand up to the harsh weather conditions we endure on the waterfront. Next up is a Welcome Board.

It was beautiful day on the ocean catching Tunas on poppers and on the troll. We also released a small Mako and had Mahi around the pots.

It was a great day on the Tuna grounds. We had The Joe D. party out for an overnight trip in search of Tuna. I decided to make the 100 mile run to the Washington Canyon where there has been a good bite. We were not disappointed. We found the fish and they had a great time catching their limit of some very nice quality Yellowfin Tuna. The Tuna are still here and in good numbers so book a trip today.

Sunday turned into another epic canyon fishing trip for Kevin, family and friends. It was also a 1st White Marlin for Joe. We were in search of the elusive Yellowfin Tuna but we were quite happy going 2 for 5 on Marlin with Mahi for the table. This was also the largest White Marlin caught on my boat. At 1st glance we thought it was a small Blue Marlin due to its size. It was an epic White Marlin double header. It was a gorgeous morning but the weather changed and made for a rough ride home.

Had Gil and friends out yesterday. It was a number of firsts for several members of this crew. 1st Tuna, 1st Marlin and 1st Mahi. And the 1st Marlin angler took the traditional plunge. It was a good and fun group.

We had Ed and Vicky, a husband and wife duo, out on their 1st offshore fishing trip. Neither had ever caught a pelagic fish before this day. They each reeled in 2 nice Tunas, and as a bonus, Ed caught a White Marlin. After landing the 4 Tunas they had enough. They were very gracious and did a great job. They kept 2 Tunas and gave the other 2 to my mate and I. It was an awesome trip.

Had Corey, family and friends out yesterday for a Canyon Tuna trip. It was very special birthday for Barron. We left early to be on the Tuna grounds before 1st light. We got nearly all our bites at Grey light before the sun actually rose. It was a fun filled day despite getting some discarded trash in my running gear which required me to get out the swimming gear and go for a swim. It was a calm day so I jumped in and cut it out and got underway.

Had Domenic and friends out on a Canyon trip yesterday. They caught their first White Marlin and Yellowfin Tunas. They were avid Walleye fishermen and quickly learned the difference in battling a 5 # Walleye vs a 60 # Yellowfin Tuna. The White Marlin are here in good numbers, so if a White Marlin is on your bucket list now is the time to book your trip and go catch one.

Had Stephen B. and friends out today for a Canyon trolling trip. We had lines in by first light and the Yellowfin Tuna were chewing. We quickly went 14 for 14 on some quality Tuna including triple and quadruple hookups. The guys will enjoy a lot of high protein meals after this trip. The Tuna are definitely here so book your trip soon.

Had Al, Chris and friends out for a Canyon trip yesterday. Had lines in early and had a good day on Yellowfin Tuna. They came in flurries of doubles and a triple with no single bites. The weather was great and getting the boat ready to shove off again tonight. July is pretty booked up with more dates open in August, so book soon.
