Emily Engh from L&W Insurance Agency walked us through Maryland Department of Labor's new FAMLI program (not to be confused with FMLA) and options employers have to choose from.

If you have an employee (or ARE one) in Maryland, this new program will impact you. Talk to your insurance provider if you want to explore initiating a private plan (the clock is ticking on that, so get rolling). Otherwise, you'll be defaulted into the state plan, which for many of you, will be the easiest option anyway.

Founded by Katrin Huber, Kind Minds United is a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting mental health and su***de prevention through education, advocacy, and open dialogue. Its engaging programs help children, adolescents, and community members build kindness, resilience, and self-care skills through creative, expressive, and nature-based activities.
