Bernetta has served as both a driver and dispatcher with West Ouachita Public Transit for more than 10 years, helping provide safe, reliable, and courteous transportation to residents throughout our community. Her dedication, dependability, and commitment to serving others make a difference each and every day.

Did you know? The City of West Monroe’s West Ouachita Public Transit System has been serving residents for more than 40 years. In 2025 alone, the system provided more than 27,000 trips, helping community members access employment, medical appointments, educational opportunities, and more.

We are attending the Director’s conference in Lake Charles LA this week. WOPT is committed to continuously learning and implementing new strategies that enhance the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of our transit services. Our goal is to better serve the community by identifying innovative solutions, improving customer experience, and expanding resources that make public transportation more helpful, reliable, and responsive to the needs of our riders.

In observance of Memorial Day, all City of West Monroe offices will be closed on Monday, May 25. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, May 26.

As we pause for the holiday, we also take time to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage, service, and dedication will never be forgotten. We wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend.
