First day, new routes, new opportunities! Today, Project SEARCH Stemilt interns started their first day of work, and they showed up ready to roll! With travel training from Eloise, Link Transit's Travel Trainer & Education Outreach Specialist, the interns practiced traveling independently from their homes to their worksite at Stemilt. Everyone made it to work, with most of the group riding Link Transit!

Getting to work is about more than knowing which bus to take. It's about building confidence, independence, and skills for the future! Link Transit's free Travel Training program helps people of all ages learn to navigate the bus system to get where they need to go 🚍🚏

Recently at the Washington State Transit Association (WSTA) annual conference, several of our employees came back with hardware, as they say!

👏Congratulations to Josh Willey and Kyle Larson who received Wall of Fame awards for being "Star Performers" at Link Transit. This award recognizes employees who, voted by their peers, have demonstrated outstanding performance through strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Both Josh and Kyle always go the extra mile at Link, and we are so glad they were honored and celebrated at WSTA this year!

👏Congratulations to Jason Sandberg who placed 3rd in the WSTA Roadeo - an obstacle course competition that demonstrates the skills, talent, and dedication required to be a safe and successful professional Bus Operator. He will compete in the National competition in Seattle next year!

👏Congratulations to Cami Ostrom, HR Analyst, who received her SHRM-CP certification - a globally recognized HR credential for professionals who focus on operational HR duties, such as implementing policies, serving as an HR point of contact, and handling day-to-day HR administration.

Link is excited to welcome Eloise to the team as our new Travel Trainer! She is still learning the rider rules, but is catching on quick! Just a reminder that when you ride the bus please use a closed container, no eating, no profanity, no sound-producing devices, and please wear clothes and shoes.
