Trying to decide if I should re-instate our authority. Looking at trying to stay local 4 states.
Kinda torn between buying another Rig. Not sure, but was leaning towards a 26' box truck. Preferably I'd like to just buy a dump truck and work around here. Hard decisions, been praying about it.

Seriously thinking about reactivating our Authority and buying a daycab, or one with a small sleeper just to do local stuff.

Well it seems that the D.O.T is going to have one a month and they must come up with new names to call it. They're still roadside inspections no matter what you label it. The motivation is state revenue. The government wonders why companies can't keep drivers, and why so many leave the field in less than two years? Well here's a few reasons.
1. Long time away from home, family and friends.
2. You work sleep and wait and none of them are when you want or need them.
3. The pay looks great to you on paper and even greater to the IRS, but the real facts set in when you compare the time and hard work to the money you earned.
4. Government control such as the ELD's and many state truck restrictions can leave you in a misery and costly positions.
5. Parking is a nightmare especially on the coastal regions.
6. Time off is ridiculous with most companies. 1.5 days off for every week. Time off starts the minute you head to the house.
7. Even O/O face these problems except they ad lots more aggravation to the mix.
