Our 2lb Hakubai Mochigome (sweet mochi rice / glutinous rice) also got a new look. Similar to our new 2lb Nishiki bag, the new 2lb Hakubai bag is also in an all new & more secure resealable standup pouch. Sometimes you don't need to use the whole bag to make your favorite dessert that calls for sweet rice, and we hope this upgrade helps remove the small inconvenience of looking for a container to store the rice or rubber banding / taping the rice bag.

While our Hakubai is type of glutinous rice, please keep in mind that it's a short grain glutinous rice, which may or may not work in making your favorite sticky rice dessert. We recommend double checking on the type of glutinous rice you need (some recipes calls specifically for long grain or short grain). Our Hakubai mochigome works best for your Japanese sweets, like mochi (sakura mochi is a good example), or sekihan (red bean rice).
