We found a shady and breezy spot along the route for Cruisin' U.S 12 Downtown Wayne Michigan Saturday, June 11. It's perfect weather for a car show and classic cruising. From Model T's to muscle car era Fords, Chevys, and Mopars to modern high-horsepower Cadillacs, Mustangs, and Challengers, there’s something for everyone. Grab a Faygo, some food from American Bistro, and watch Detroit's car culture drive-by on U.S. 12.

Potbelly is not a Michigan company, but they make great tasting sandwiches. The company started out and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois . However, it maintains a strong presence in the Mitten State, with numerous locations across the Detroit metro area, Ann Arbor, East Lansing, and others.

It's my favorite sandwich shop in my local area hands down. I like the original Italian, with chips, and a soft drink.

Just spent the day wandering through Hidden Lake Gardens in Tipton, Michigan, and wow it's a peaceful escape. The grounds, walking trails, bonsai garden, exhibit of rare, miniature, and native conifers, conservatory, and Sky Walk are true hidden gems. The visitors center is also a wealth of information about the history of it's founding in 1968.

The trails, the trees, the quiet pockets of shade… it all felt like stepping into a living postcard. When it's hot this summer, consider a visit to Hidden Lake Gardens. You can stay cool in the shaded trails and still enjoy being outside in nature.

Sometimes you don’t realize how much you need a reset until nature hands you one. Grateful for places like this that slow life down and remind us of the benefits of slowing down and enjoying what nature has provided.

Today we made a stop at Salt Springs Brewery in Saline for lunch, and it didn't disappoint.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was friendly, and the food was excellent. It's one of those places where you can relax, enjoy a great meal, and spend time with family or friends without feeling rushed.

One of the things I enjoy most about exploring local restaurants is discovering the businesses that help make our communities unique. Every town has those special places that locals recommend, and Salt Springs Brewery is certainly one worth visiting if you're in the Saline area.

We had the Italiano Pizza, an 8 slice pizza that's perfect as a lunch for two.

Ingredients:

• mild soppressata
• pepperoni
• smoked bacon
• pomodoro sauce
• fresh basil
• cheese blend

If you haven’t tried the legendary 24-inch Monster Pizza from Toarmina's Pizza, you’re missing out on a Michigan classic! Founded in Westland back in 1987, they’ve been serving up massive flavor for nearly 40 years.

The 24" is a great option anytime you need to feed lots of people. It's so big I had to move the driver's seat forward just to take it home!

Whether you're feeding the whole family, hosting game night, or just really, really love pizza, they've got a pie with your name on it.

We tried Buddy's Pizza's Supreme Detroit-style frozen pizza from Meijer for tonight's dinner. It was a fun change of pace to try Buddy's after eating the frozen offering from Motorcity Pizza Company a few weeks ago. Buddy's has been serving Detroit-style pizza for 80-years and through five generations.

I'm sure we can improve on the effort with more practice since results may vary slightly oven-by-oven. For example, the right side of our oven cooks differently than the left so we typically rotate the pans halfway through our cooks.
