And we've got another post that's been a long time coming... Neal got to solo today! He had a bunch of family come out to cheer him on and celebrate this huge accomplishment.

Next up? A little more training, a lot more solo, and then checkride! Woohoo!

This post has been a long time coming! After a long day yesterday with a few weather delays, Allen earned his private pilot certificate! I'm really excited to have seen this one through and look forward to working on his instrument rating next.

Happy National Aviation Day! ✈️

It’s easy to take flight for granted. We climb into an airplane, start an engine, leave the ground, and somehow think that’s just a normal day.

But aviation is pretty incredible.

It’s the freedom to explore, the challenge of learning something new, the people you meet along the way, and the feeling of watching someone experience their first flight—or first solo—for the first time.

Spent the weekend at the highest elevation public airport east of the Mississippi! (Say that 5 times fast!)

The unfortunate side of being in the mountains is that you may have fog hanging around for a very long time, so we're waiting on it to clear out so we can make our way south.

First solo alert!

Today, Jason with VA Ready App did his first solo flight while working towards his Sport pilot certificate! Three great landings, a cut up T-shirt, and some lifelong memories were made today! Congrats, Jason!

Today was "Bring your wife to work day!" Quick trip from St. Simons to Toccoa and back.

Crab Island at Destin from 9,000 feet! Flew by this morning from Louisiana and that place is still packed!

Fufun fact: there's an airport just minutes away from here that you can fly into as a private pilot. Why drive forever when you can get there in a fraction of the time?

Proud CFI moment today. :)

Congratulations to Will Rogers on completing his Private Pilot Checkride today! He's been hard at work for several months, had the setback of hitting a bird with a plane and having to transition to a different plane to complete his training, and still got it knocked out. He's officially got his "license to learn" and can go out and enjoy the benefits of his hard earned certificate.
