Another proud CFI moment! Today, Rith got to fly a plane all by himself!

Proud CFI moment today. :)

Congratulations to Will Rogers on completing his Private Pilot Checkride today! He's been hard at work for several months, had the setback of hitting a bird with a plane and having to transition to a different plane to complete his training, and still got it knocked out. He's officially got his "license to learn" and can go out and enjoy the benefits of his hard earned certificate.

Sun n Fun is one of the largest aviation events of the year, basically a spring break for pilots! We didn't make it in person this year, but it was fun to see the hat visit the super guppy.

Daniel Field Airport (KDNL) is taking care of the pilots today! With the Master's Golf Tournament this week/weekend, Daniel Field is seeing way more traffic than usual. With all the extra pilots hanging around, they've been kind enough to provide lunch for us! There are worse ways to spend a Sunday afternoon. :)

Did you know that student pilots can bring along a friend (or, in this case, their spouse) for flights?!

While it's not something you should do most flights - especially those with maneuvers and lots of landings - it's still fun to bring someone along for your flight sometime. This allows them to:
- See your progress
- Cheer you on
- Get a taste of *why* you're putting in all that work

Depending on the student and guest, we may do a close to normal lesson, may take things lighter than usual, or may completely swap it up and just do a tour of the town!

If you're a student pilot or know a student pilot, check with your CFI and see if this makes sense with your current training!

Well you don't see this every day. Spotted the C-17 Globemaster at Palm Beach airport yesterday. It had just unloaded Marine One - yep, they use a giant plane to haul a giant helicopter long distances. Didn't get to see Marine One, but still pretty cool to see the C-17!

✈️ There’s a reason I’ve been talking about Light Sport aircraft lately.

Over the last few posts, we’ve covered a lot:

• What Light Sport aircraft are
• Why they can be more affordable to own and operate
• How maintenance can look a little different
• And even how some aircraft are built by their owners

That’s not by accident.

Over the past couple weeks, I’ve been spending time diving deeper into this side of aviation—learning more about how these aircraft are built, maintained, and operated.

It’s a part of aviation that’s growing, evolving, and becoming more relevant for a lot of pilots. Especially as things continue to change.

I firmly believe that the more you understand the airplane, the better (and more confident) you are around it—whether you’re flying it, maintaining it, or thinking about owning one someday.
