This is the problem. Carriers who allow this and promote this need to be to have their authority revoked and get on a list so they cannot reopen under another authority. I certainly hope MOTUS eliminates this. 🙏🏻

This driver ABSOLUTELY should have been arrested! In some states being overweight will get you arrested! This guy was completely illegal, and I’m not talking about his immigration status.
This is why the motoring public hates us! This is what they think we all are. This makes me so angry 😡

Illinois Route 59 Corridor Traffic Safety Initiative

On May 9, 2026, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office will join law enforcement agencies from the Wisconsin state line to Will County in a traffic safety initiative focused on Illinois Route 59. Spanning nearly 72 miles, Illinois Route 59 is a heavily traveled roadway for residents and visitors of this state. Law enforcement agencies participating in this initiative are those with direct jurisdiction over portions of Illinois Route 59.

Throughout the day, Sheriff’s deputies on Illinois Route 59 will focus their attention on the “Fatal Four” traffic violations: Driving Under the Influence (DUI), speeding, seat belt / child restraint use, and distracted driving. These high-visibility campaigns are part of our efforts to keep Lake County and its roadways safe.

This additional enforcement effort is supported by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation and aligns with Illinois’ statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Click It or Ticket” and “It’s Not a Game” campaigns.
