Port MacKenzie Port MacKenzie, the only port in Alaska with 9,000 acres dedicated to commercial and industrial use.

Port MacKenzie is located in the beautiful Upper Cook Inlet with immediate access to major road corridors to the Mat-Su Valley, north to Fairbanks, and south to Anchorage. Designed with plenty of room to grow, it is the only port in Alaska with 9,000-acres (14 square miles) dedicated to commercial and industrial development. raft dock capability in the Upper Cook Inlet, both of which are carefully designed to efficiently import and export many types of cargoes, including natural resources.

7/29/2026 - What a beautiful day to load a barge at Port MacKenzie. Bulk salt heading down the inlet with a stop in Homer, then on to Juneau, and other points in southeast Alaska. This is part of Alaska Dept. of Transportation winter road maintenance. The shipper is Northern Gravel & Trucking, the tug and barge (Gretchen H, and Madison Bay) are owned by Boyer Marine, chartered by Bowhead Marine, with a tug assist from Cook Inlet Tug & Barge.

Port MacKenzie is a deep-water port located on the west side of the Knik Arm in the Upper Cook Inlet. Although just two miles away from the Anchorage port, Port MacKenzie is worlds apart. It's strategic location as a gateway to the Interior make the port an ideal location for importing/exporting bulk commodities and construction cargo.
