Friends of Kennedy Street NW! This page was created by the Kennedy Street Development Corporation (KSDC). We belive Kennedy Street NW is welcoming and bright with long term public and private investments that provide the community with a vibrant work-live-play environment while maintaining and celebrating our diversity and lifestyle. Our Values are:
- to serve the needs of current residents first
- to help existing businesses to adapt to neighborhood growth
- to promote locally-owned, small business growth
- to work with any group, official, political figure that shares our Values for Kennedy Street
In early January 2014, a small group of current and prospective business owners/residents collected input from a dozen businesses on the street and held a first meeting to set the group's first priorities. Those first priorities included:
- work with city agencies to assure appropriate investment in streetscape improvements, transportation, and business incentives
- devise promotional campaigns for the street and for businesses on it
- gather information on business and resident needs to share with prospective business owners, local media, city agencies, and the community
- bring together all residents, businesses, and other community groups committed to this cause to gain support for all this
