At 8:28 this morning, TowBoatUS Barnegat Light responded to a 40-foot Pacemaker stranded on the North Jetty at Barnegat Inlet.

After securing a hawser, we successfully pulled the vessel off the rocks and into the inlet. With the assistance of two additional TowBoatUS assets, the vessel was grounded in a safe location so a passenger and their dog could be removed and dewatering could begin.

Once the vessel was stabilized, pumps were secured aboard to keep up with the continuing water intrusion. The vessel was then successfully towed to Holiday Harbor Marina for an emergency haulout.

Many thanks to the other agencies that assisted with controlling vessel traffic throughout the operation. Great teamwork by everyone involved.

Earlier today, our crews responded approximately 8 miles offshore of Barnegat Inlet following an allision between a 32-foot research vessel and a 33-foot Grady-White.

One person was safely transferred from the vessel and airlifted by helicopter. Both boats were taking on water, and our crews worked to keep them afloat with dewatering pumps until we were able to successfully get them hauled out.

We wish everyone involved a full and speedy recovery.

Keep a sharp lookout, slow down, and use extra caution while navigating the area. A few extra seconds of caution can prevent costly damage.

A 48-foot Prestige began taking on water after going over the North jetty in Barnegat Inlet. Our crew responded quickly, deployed multiple pumps to keep the vessel afloat, and safely transported it to Barnegat Bay Marina for an emergency haulout.

After Saturday night’s Beach Haven fireworks, severe storms moved through, causing this 24-foot Sea Camper to capsize with four people on board. Fortunately, everyone was safely recovered without major injury.

The following day, our crew successfully recovered the vessel and transported it to a local boat ramp, where it was hauled out by the owner.

Quick response. We were able to keep this 25-foot Cape Horn afloat after it began taking on water approximately 12 miles offshore of Barnegat Inlet.

The vessel was safely towed back to Holiday Harbor Marina, where it was hauled out.
