Est. in 1974 by Tim Kramer, a hometown product with an enthusiasm for cycling since boyhood. Inspired by the beautiful location in the Encina Grande Shopping, nestled in the front yard of MT. Diablo. 44+ years later we're still going strong. We are not a large chain like our competitors which gives us an advantage in one obvious way. We can be completely honest and give you our true opinion based

on our experience. We are not obligated to push a product on you, product that we don't believe in. When you buy a bike from us you can trust that we approve of that model. That's why we give you lifetime free tune ups. We will never try to sell you a package for tune ups like our competitors. This will always be free with the purchase of one of our trusted brands. We’re stoked to get a few more of the Santa Cruz Vala’s especially now that the price has dropped substantially. The base model (Deore) is now down from $6200 to $4950! True to our roots. You’ll always find BMX bikes for sale at our stores. We have a nice selection of bikes at the moment. I think we can all agree that riding a BMX bike as a kid really helps with the skills you’ll need to be a confident mountain biker. E-scooter bike things don’t teach the kids anything. You can’t even bunny hop curbs, what’s the fun in that? We’ve been selling BMX for 50 years now and we see it first hand. Plus they’re fairly low maintenance and built to last. Great for parents and fun for kids. Plus you have to pedal. Let’s go!!

A note from the owner: Hello all Encina and Clayton Bikes friends, family and clients. I just want to say a few things. First off, Happy New Year and thank you for another wonderful year of Encina and Clayton Bikes! As we look back on the year I can’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude towards our customers, our staff and all those that have contributed to this beloved business over the year. I’d like to thank everyone for their patience while we made great improvements to our operation and found some key additions to our staff. There’s no doubt last year had its challenges. The bike business is changing rapidly. I’m thoroughly impressed at how the staff adapted and embraced all of the nuances bike shops have to manage through. I believe after all is said and done we managed to improve and speed up our operation by year’s end. It’s our mission to be a worthy and capable business that serves its community with respect, passion and honesty. When we’re thrown curveballs we still knock em out of the park. In the spirit of my father who started the business in 1974 we stay the course. Unapologetically and un-wavering. The very things that make this business unique are the very things that make it successful. I’d like to thank my staff especially….it takes at least 10 of us everyday 7 days a week to operate this business. They all showed consistent and dedicated work ethic that really showed up. We are the team that carries the torch now but it’s still the mission to be worthy, affective and capable of being your chosen bike stores. We continue to earn your business with positivity, honesty and fairness. With the help of our big brands Trek, Specialized, Santa Cruz and Marin we continue to stock the best products. Our service department really stepped it up this year especially in the second half. This was the year we grew up and got better. We move on and look forward to many more years of serving our community. As we enter our 52nd year of Encina and 44th year of Clayton Bikes we pedal on and we encourage you do the same!
