Ah, the “Emerald Isle” awaits! Here’s a delightful and captivating two-week trip that’s bound to please. Join the Rossmoor Travel Club and Grand Circle Travel for an extraordinary view of the Republic of Ireland and an opportunity for a Post-Trip extension to Northern Ireland.
Tour highlights: After a flight from San Francisco, you’ll start your excursion in Dublin for three days. Your tour director and fellow travelers will enjoy a Welcome Dinner at your comfortable centrally-located hotel. You’ll discover Dublin on a guided panoramic tour, starting with a visit to the Irish Immigration Museum, and discover stories of Irish emigration over the past hundred years. You’ll tour the only operational whiskey distillery in Dublin and spend the evening getting more acquainted with Dublin at an optional traditional Irish Night event with dinner and music.
Outside Dublin, we head for Kilkenny, Glendalough, and the river town of Avoca – home of the long-famous Avoca Handweavers. We’ll enjoy the gardens of Kilkenny Castle and an included lunch. Our next stop is the renowned town of Waterford, where we will tour the famous Waterford Crystal Factory.
In nearby Killarney, you can witness the renowned Blarney Stone, and later, you’ll learn about rural Irish life at a nearby sheep farm. One day is devoted to the mystical and scenic Ring of Kerry along the rugged coastline. Next is the majestic Cliffs of Moher and awesome travel through the rugged Buren on your route to a walking tour of the lively and bohemian Town of Galway, where you’ll celebrate your Irish excursion over a Farewell Dinner. The next day, you either transfer homeward-bound to the airport or join in the six-night post-trip extension along the Atlantic coast to County Mayo and Sligo.
