Rain will change to snow early Thursday morning with some minor accumulations expected across western Lower Michigan. The morning commute may see some areas with reduced visibility and slippery roadways.

❄️First look at round one of snow this week❄️

The first arrives Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning, bringing widespread snowfall across West Michigan. Our latest forecast gives a widespread 6 inches for most areas, with the potential for even higher totals in some spots.

Busy week! Very proud of our team!

This snowy week is nearly at an end, including a visit from real Arctic air, and many towns near Lake Michigan and Lake Superior got a foot or two of fresh snow as a result. Clearly, the vast majority of snow was a result of lake effect, as plenty of other parts of Michigan only saw an inch or two at best.

❄️❄️ Although this morning's storm did not bring 2in of snowfall to warrant a plow, we will be out this evening to clean up after the city plows and scrape driveways! ❄️❄️

❄️❄️ Due to the late start of snow at 3:30 a.m., we are all working through the routes during the day. If you see a plow truck with its warning lights on, please give them enough space to work safely and effectively. Thank you! ❄️❄️

Snow will move into the area this morning and afternoon. Areas from Muskegon to Saugatuck could see around 1 inch per hour snowfall rates at times through the afternoon. Tonight we’ll see a transition to lake effect snow showers causing brief bursts of snow and reduced visibilities. This will linger impacts into Saturday morning mainly along the lakeshore.
