The Waldport Kayak Shack is in the process of reorganizing and hopes to return to serving our community and its visitors for the 2017 season. Don't let that stop you from discovering the Alsea Bay and surrounding watersheds' tranquil beauty from the perspective of river otters, wading herons, and a wealth of other wildlife. The Alsea Bay has been designated as an “Important Bird Area” by the National Audubon Society.

The Kayak Shack is in process of reorganizing and will not be open for the 2016 season. Don't let that stop you from enjoying the Alsea Bay and Lint Slough. The new Lint Slough trail is calling! Walk the banks of Lint Slough, identified by the Audubon Society as an Important Birding Area. Our new shops, restaurants, bed and breakfasts and the Waldport Inn are waiting to welcome you to Waldport!

The beauty of today's sunny bridge tour was matched by the beauty of the folks who paddled it with us today! What a lovely couple, taking on salt water kayaking for the first time and rocking it! So grateful to share the morning on the water with them!

Calling ALL Birders!! Lint Slough is designated as an Important Birding Area by the Audubon Society. The guided tour on July 24th will be a 2 hour paddle up Lint Slough. Tour meets at 7:00 and wake up with the wildlife as they hunt, chirp and learn to fly in our little slice of heaven. Recent sightings: Juvenile Bald Eagle, Snowy Egret, Great Blue Heron, Osprey, King Fisher and many more!

It's true! They're back! The Egrets are back in all of their beauty! And yes...that is our guided tour!!
