If you are an Accounting Specialist, we have the perfect position for you. We are looking for an self-motivated, detail oriented Accounting Specialist with a great attitude accustom to performing independently with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will have current hands-on experience working in an accounting department using QuickBooks as well as a solid working knowledge of financial statements, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliation of accounts, invoicing and other small business financial functions. Experience working with the DOD contractors is considered a plus.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining records of deposits and expenses in QuickBooks
- Processing employee travel expense reports in QuickBooks
- Calculating and processing payroll and reports in QuickBooks
- Coordination of timesheets with proper invoice and data entry into QuickBooks
- Preparing monthly financial statements and report from QuickBooks
- Preparing and submit invoices to clients and follow up on invoice payments/receivables
- Interface with CPA to review books and prepare quarterly financial reports and year-end audit process
- Preparing journal entries for day-today operations, analyzing accounts and making necessary adjustments
- Management the month-end close process; verify integrity and accuracy of general ledger
- Assistance with management of the annual audit and preparation of income tax returns
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting and relevant experience; proficient QuickBooks Pro experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills; highly analytical with an eye for detail and accuracy; familiarity with government contracts cost accounting and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
