What do you do for lunch?
A question recently asked to me!
First and foremost, I work with a dietician and am under the care/supervision of my primary care. Every person is different and no one body is the same. However, in any diet, macros are important. In my diet, my micros are just as equally improtant!
Macros = Fat, Protein and Carbs
Micros = Vitamins/Minerals (supplements for me)
If you are not consuming the proper amount of macros/micros your body needs you will experience stalls and frustrations in a weightloss journey! Also, WATER… DRINK IT!
I NEVER count calories! I don’t have to if my macros/micros are consistently being met!
My current goals are -
Water - 80 ounces per day
Protein - 120g per day
Carbs - less than 50 per day
Fat - I don’t count this often, but as intake increases my goal is 40-50g per day and less than 20g of saturated fats per day!
Thats a lot! So, here is goes… Lean Meats/Veggies/Fruits and avoid processed foods!
Ok, now that that is out of the way… typical lunches…
Option 1 - Cottage Cheese Pasta Bake
1/4 cup cottage cheese (lowest fat content)
1/4 cup seasoned ground turkey/chicken or beef if it fits your macros
1/4 cup cheddar cheese shredded
2 tablespoons of salsa
*You can eat this by itself (I do) or you can use the zero net carb tortillas and pop them in the microwave or oven and make chips out of it to dip!
Option 2 - Cottage Cheese Pizza Bake
1/4 cup cottage cheese (lowest fat content)
10 cut up pepperonis (I use turkey pepperonis)
1/4 cup mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons of pizza sauce (Rao’s is what I use)
*I have added onions, bell peppers, used ham cubes instead of pepperonis or sausage, beef… SO EASY AND SO MANY OPTIONS.
Option 3 - Adult Lunchable
10 pepperonis
1 string cheese
1 oz carrots
1 oz broccoli
1 oz baby dill pickles
2 tablespoons Ranch for dipping
*This is always my go to if I didn’t think about or plan out lunch… you can sub so much for this. Carved turkey lunch meat, cheese cubes, any veggies, some fruits… it’s honestly whatever you choose as long as it’s fresh and healthy!
