If you're a homeschooling family or part of a homeschool group in the Knoxville-Maryville-Vonore area and you're looking for a fun, educational experience, make sure you get registered!

Our homeschool days provide the same engaging, educational field trip that we offer to public and private school groups. If you can't make it to our November 3rd event, we have one on December 1st as well!

Fall Birding Workshop

Our fall birding workshop scheduled for Sunday, October 4th from 8:30am-10:30am will no longer be happening.

Although our scheduled birding program is cancelled, we still welcome you to come visit the park this weekend and see all history, plants, and animals that our park has to offer.

Fort Loudoun State Historic Park will hold a Limited Flintlock Hunt on Saturday, November 14.

The park will be closed to the general public to ensure the safety of hunters and visitors. The park will reopen on Sunday, November 15.

In partnership with Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency the competitive draw gives a small group of hunters the chance to experience a rare hunt at Fort Loudoun’s historic park using the period-appropriate flintlock-style r***e.

In addition to the unique experience, the hunt will help manage deer impacts on the site’s historic landscape and cultural resources, which requires a more targeted approach than a typical park setting.

- Interested participants will complete an application and be chosen through a random draw process and notified by the park.
- Only selected participants will be allowed to attend the flintlock hunt.
- Applications will be accepted through September 30, 2026.

🔥⚔️Garrison Weekend is Coming to Tellico Blockhouse ⚔️🔥

We're getting ready for our upcoming Tellico Blockhouse Garrison, and we have a few updates to make your visit a little easier!

📍Additional Parking will be avalibale for the event, so you'll have more space to park guests and enjoy the day.
🚻 Portable restrooms will be on-site for visitor convenience.
ℹ️ Mobile Information Station: We'll also have a mobile information station available during the event where you can stop by with questions, pick-up information, and learn more about the Tellico Blockhouse and the activities happening throughout the day.

Whether you're a longtime fan of living history or joining us for the first time, we hope you'll come experience the sights, sounds, and stories of the Tellico Blockhouse!

Fall Birding Workshop

Sunday, October 4th, 2026 8:30am-10:30am

Join our volunteer birding guides Janet McKnight and Evan Kidd for a fall birding workshop. We will go over birding basics and discuss why Fall birding is so special. We will find and identify as many species as we can around the parking and picnic area. Please bring binoculars. This program is geared for ages 13 and older.
