This fellow had been actively marketing new, high power electric motorcycles to kids as young as 13 on Facebook, often advertising them on the Boardwalk. The city of VB has turned a blind eye to this activity. With many people wrongly categorizing these vehicles as "e-bikes". Class 1 & 2 e-bikes are here to stay, but the E-Motos have to go.

I predict a real crackdown come Spring.

VBPD Investigating Fatal Crash on Cypress Ave

On Oct. 31, 2025, at approximately 6:01 p.m., officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) responded to a single vehicle crash in the 1000 block of Cypress Road.

The preliminary investigation revealed that David German, (M/47) of Virginia Beach, was traveling northbound on an e-vehicle (dirt bike) when he exited the roadway and struck a light pole. German was transported to a local hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.

This incident remains under investigation by the VBPD Traffic Safety Unit. Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to contact VBPD at (757) 385-4606 or submit anonymous tips through Crime Solvers at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or P3Tips.com.
