🌟 Employee Spotlight: Douglas “Shawn” James 🌟

No one shares more history with our company and family than Douglas “Shawn” James.

Shawn has been part of Venture since we opened our doors in 1996, but his story with us began long before that. His career with the Hall/Gallop family spans more than 50 years, dating back to his years with Gallop Bus Lines. Shawn even taught our current President, Jimmy Hall, how to drive a bus when Jimmy was just eight years old. That memory alone shows just how far back their relationship goes.

For decades, Shawn served as a Technician, working behind the scenes to keep Gallop and Venture coaches safe, reliable, and on the road. His hard work and dedication played an important role in maintaining our fleet through the years. Today, Shawn continues to care for our coaches and lend a hand wherever he’s needed.

While his years of service are remarkable, what means the most to us is the person Shawn is. Somewhere along the way, he stopped simply being an employee and became family. Shawn is one of the most giving people you’ll ever meet. He’s the kind of person who would do anything for a friend, loved one, or complete stranger and would give you his last dollar if he knew you needed it.

For more than half a century, Shawn has watched generations of our family grow up and our business evolve along with them. Through all of the changes and memories, he’s been there. Having someone share that much of our family’s history is something truly special and something we will never take for granted.

Thank you, Shawn, for everything you’ve given to our family and our company over the years. We’re incredibly fortunate that you’ve been along for so much of our journey. Venture simply wouldn’t be the same without you.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Matthew Krogsund 🌟

Today, we’re proud to recognize Matthew Krogsund and the many ways he contributes to Venture!

Matt joined Venture on March 17, 2025, as our Sales and Operations Coordinator. Since joining the team, he’s quickly become an important part of several areas of our day-to-day operation.

On the sales side, Matt handles quote pricing, assists with customer service and sales, and manages billing for our Accounts Receivable. He also works closely with our dispatch team, assisting with everything from driver management and reporting to trip logistics and daily operational needs. His ability to balance responsibilities across sales, billing, and operations while staying organized and efficient has made a real impact across our company.

Matt also has a special connection to Venture as the son of our Operations Manager, Michelle, who has been part of the Venture team for more than 14 years.

Beyond his work ethic, Matt is known around the office for being a jokester and keeping things fun. He brings a great balance of hard work and humor to the office and is always willing to jump in wherever he’s needed.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Nenna Christensen 🌟

Today, we’re proud to recognize Nenna Christensen and celebrate her dedication to Venture!

Nenna joined Venture in January 2019. Many of you know her as the “voice of Venture”—the first person you hear when you call and often the first face you see when you walk through our front door.

As the Administrative Assistant to our executive team, Nenna has become an essential part of our day-to-day operations. She prepares important tax and business reports, assists with charter sales, helps keep contracts and payments on track, and handles a variety of administrative needs throughout the company. Whatever the task, Nenna is always willing to jump in and help.

Beyond her day-to-day responsibilities, Nenna has become a motherly figure to many at Venture. Whether she’s organizing birthday celebrations, baking cakes for our office and shop staff, or simply checking in on those around her, she helps make Venture feel like more than just a workplace—she helps make it feel like family.

Over the years, Nenna has become someone our team can always count on. Her kindness, dependability, and genuine care for others have made a lasting impact on Venture.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Alaina Langemeier 🌟

Today, we’re proud to recognize Alaina Langemeier and celebrate her five years with Venture!

Alaina joined Venture in July 2021 and has continued to grow with the company by taking on new challenges and responsibilities along the way.

She began her career in Dispatch, where she managed our Samsara platform, assisted drivers with technical support, helped prepare driver payroll, and supported our dispatch team. She later moved to the front office, where she assisted with charter sales while continuing to support dispatch.

This year, Alaina transitioned into the Parts Department as our Parts Coordinator, where she works alongside our Parts Manager while continuing to assist with payroll and dispatch. Throughout her five years with Venture, she’s grown from supporting one department to playing a key role across multiple areas of the company.

Alaina is also part of the Langemeier family, a family that has been part of the Venture team for more than 20 years. We’re proud to see that tradition continue and grateful for the dedication they’ve shown to our company over the years.

Over the past five years, Alaina has become someone our team can always count on. Her positive attitude, dependability, and willingness to help wherever she’s needed have made a lasting impact on Venture.
