🚍 The home of Venture!

Our 23,000-square-foot facility in Virginia Beach is the heart of our operation, housing everything from mechanical service bays and a fully stocked parts department to a wash bay, paint booth, and on-site fueling.

Behind every Venture trip is a dedicated team working to maintain our fleet and keep our coaches ready for the road.

We're proud of the facility we've built and the hardworking team that keeps our operation moving every day!

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Dereck White 🌟

Today, we're proud to recognize Dereck White, our Operator Trainer, and someone whose history with our family and company goes back decades.

Dereck first became part of the story during the Gallop Bus Lines years, when he started cleaning buses as a young teenager in the 1970s. In his adult years, he went on to drive motorcoaches part time for both Gallop and Venture, while also spending many years serving as a sheriff.

This year, Dereck joined Venture full time as our Operator Trainer, taking on responsibility for the training and development of our drivers. He leads classroom sessions, individual training, and onboarding for new operators, while also maintaining our DOT driver files and helping ensure important records stay accurate and up to date. He still gets behind the wheel from time to time as well, continuing to stay connected to the work our operators do every day.

Dereck is very much a by the book kind of person. He's organized, detail oriented, and takes pride in keeping records clean and holding people accountable to the standards expected of them. Those qualities make him a natural fit for a role where safety, consistency, and attention to detail matter every day.

At the same time, there's another side to Dereck that those who know him well get to see. He's a genuinely caring person who enjoys joking around and giving people a hard time in good fun. That balance of accountability and personality makes him someone our operators can learn from while still feeling comfortable around him.

From cleaning buses as a teenager to driving coaches and now training the people behind the wheel, Dereck's connection to the bus industry has come full circle.
