Big news for our region!

A new analysis from Greater New Orleans, Inc. (GNO, Inc.) projects that the Louisiana International Terminal (LIT) will deliver more than $33 million in new annual tax revenues to St. Bernard Parish at full buildout — a 58% increase over the parish's current tax base — while creating over 4,300 jobs.

That means real funding for the services communities depend on:
✅ $5M+ annually to local schools
✅ $5.1M+ to law enforcement
✅ $2.5M to fire protection

Exciting progress for Louisiana’s future! Phase 1 of the St. Bernard Transportation Corridor is officially moving forward in partnership with Louisiana Department Of Transportation and Development and St. Bernard Parish, backed by federal funding secured by U.S. Senator John Kennedy. This corridor will enhance freight mobility, improve local traffic flow, reduce congestion, and provide a long-envisioned hurricane evacuation route for St. Bernard Parish and the surrounding region.

A big thank you to Senator John Kennedy and Governor Jeff Landry (Office of Governor Jeff Landry) for their leadership and support in securing critical federal funding.

Together with DOTD and St. Bernard Parish, we’re building infrastructure that strengthens commerce, community safety, and Louisiana’s global competitiveness.
