Well after many hours and some failed parts, the little 29 4 door truck is able to go up and down. I know it don't sound like a big deal, but it has been a nightmare. It is truly the " older version" of the bag system, but it is what the owner wants to use. I am trying to make it happen for him. We did get some lights installed on a modified light bar and new headlight stanchions built and will be putting the headlights on as soon as they get here. Pics coming soon.

Made a bit of progress after being pulled off this project for a couple months due to owner surgery and the holidays.
We got the remaining braces dabbed and installed for the extended running boards. Also, we started the massive wiring of the wireless remote air bag system. We got the relay stations installed and the switch boards mounted. I started on the wiring and completed a major portion of the front half. This is new territory for me but I think it will be good to learn . We really had a tremendous day day in the shop overall.

After an extended break from the 29 Chevy truck, the owner got back with the build after surgery, covid, and a lengthy recovery period. We worked most of the day just cleaning, grinding, fitting and welding to seal the body and fab/install the visor. Lots of body welding so it was a lot of moving around to not get too hot to warp. It made a big difference in her looks . I am so glad to be a help on this dream coming true for my friend and brother in Christ.

Sorry for such a late post, but been swamped prepping to go back to teaching school in a few days. Got the remainder of running boards fabbed as well as the splash apron extensions(built in all one piece). I need to finish the weld up, but they are on there and really helped to strengthen that huge fender. Gonna try and finish the air bag system (add a couple of pressure sensors and the wiring to the power source and the control panel). It should be going up and down on each corner from the cab very soon. Thanks for following.

Been on the running boards and rear fenders this last couple of days. All custom mounts and supports due to the "extension". It is starting to look like a truck of this era.. should get the other pieces fabbed and installed.
Most of the air bag system is completed and the final wiring to the pumps is in the near future.
Thanks for following the build.

After hours of searching and hunting window regulators for a 1939 Chevy Pickup I have put electric windows in my rat rod. No company I could find makes, has, knew where to locate these little elusive parts. Fit 36 to 46 Chevy truck and cannot be found.
So, now we have an updated "improved" rat rod .
