Based in Vermilion, Ohio, The Chicago Liners are a railfanning group consisting of Matt Delsander, Tyler Simmons, Shaun Csumita, Thomas Shaun, and Scott Keaffaber. We railfan on the Norfolk Southern mainline between Cleveland and Chicago, and our main turf covered is Cleveland, Berea, Olmsted Falls, Elyria, Amherst, Vermilion, Ceylon, Huron, Sandusky, Port Clinton, Oak Harbor, Milbury, and Toledo.
Occasionally we will go on the CSX Greenwhich Subdivision and Willard Subdivision which is somewhat south of the NS Chicago Line tracks. We will have a YouTube channel where we upload videos of our catches on the NS Chicago Line. We are not it any way associated with Norfolk Southern or CSX, just a couple guys who railfan on their lines. The group was founded by Tyler Simmons and Co-Founder Matt Delsander in December of 2013. The group started out originally as the Cleveland Liners. The Cleveland Liners would have raiilfanned the Cleveland Line and Fort Wayne Line east of Alliance Ohio, but the idea was scrapped a few weeks later, and it was finally decided in January 2014 that the Chicago Line was the more relevant idea, and the Chicago Liner Railfanning Group was fully ready to start. The Chicago Liners started out with 4 members. The first 4 members got together for the first time in Brook Park, Ohio in late February 2014, and have since then added 2 more members to the group. After adding member Scott Keaffaber (Member of Conrail Tracker, and other various projects), we were able to safely say that we cover the Chicago Line from Cleveland to as far as Toledo!
