Wheat season is in full swing!

According to the National Agricultural Aviation Association, “aerial applicators treat millions of acres of wheat and barley each year, and without this method, the U.S. would face an annual loss of 199 million bushels of wheat due to pests, disease, and timing delays.” That’s enough wheat to make billions of loaves of bread!

Team Ag-Cat won our last Fun Fact Friday, so here’s a couple fun facts about Ag-Cats

1. All four outer wing panels are identical. This design feature was intentional, allowing operators to reduce their spare parts inventory.

2. A specialized version known as the "Showcat" was developed for airshows, featuring incredible low-speed performance perfect for wingwalking

3. While early models used 220 hp to 300 hp engines, the design evolved to handle much more power, including 600 hp radial engines and later, Pratt & Whitney PT6A turboprop engines
