Donut underestimate the port when it comes to Donut Day!

We couldn’t help noticing a few shapes around the port that almost resemble our favorite round treat, so we thought we’d share to celebrate Donut Day.

Last week, we joined other local organizations at the Small Business Resource Fair. This event, hosted by FVRLibraries - Fort Vancouver Regional Library District , Washington City Government, is a wonderful opportunity to connect with small local businesses as we look ahead to the future public market.

Last week, students from Cascadia Technical Academy's maritime program were given a tour of United Grain. The program's location at the port gives high school students a unique opportunity to interact with port tenant businesses and gain firsthand knowledge about different aspects of the maritime industry. Thank you, UGC for being such great hosts.

Did you hear the news? Our Purple Martin Habitat is one of the hottest places to nest this season! Just check out some of the reviews.

While the first photo is a spoof on reality (we think this is how the birds may see the inside of our gourds😉), we are making real improvements to help keep these migratory birds safe, including an updated entryway designed to encourage purple martins to nest and discourage predators. Not to mention the comfy bedding provided and the amazing view! Keep swiping for actual interior views of these updates...

PS: reach out, we have ideas.

Precision is everything when you’re moving a 390-ton ship loader from the vessel to its new home on the dock.

This week, skilled crews brought us another step closer to opening the new Vancouver Bulk Terminal soda ash facility at the port with the arrival of this massive piece. It was an exercise where inches mattered: crews moved and placed the blue stand on the right of this video yesterday. Today they had to wait for high tide around noon to give an extra 8” of space to create a total of 30” of clearance to move the ship loader from the vessel to the stand. This 32 second time-lapse took well over an hour and a metric ton of coordination by crews guiding it into place.

As the very first school year wraps up for Cascadia Tech Maritime Academy, we’re proud to see the growth and talent of these future maritime leaders.

Over the past year, students have explored the maritime world through hands on training in fields like mapping and welding. They also gained career experience and knowledge through industry partnerships.

We partnered with Cascadia Tech Maritime Academy, offering classroom space and resources at the port to conduct their classes.

The maritime industry is Washington’s third-largest economic driver, and there’s a crucial need for new talent to support and fill this industry as it continues to grow. To learn more about this program, visit CascadiaTechnicalAcademy.org.

to Bring Your Kids to Work Day last month when port tenant Sigma DG welcomed kids for a behind-the-scenes look at their manufacturing operations.

A highlight of the day was seeing the company’s 3D printers at work, turning digital designs into real objects. Each child received a custom 3D-printed gift to take home, making the experience both fun and memorable.

Thank you, Sigma DG, for inspiring the next generation of manufacturing innovators!
