Working on a full Boat Restoration this week 10 cushions in all so let’s go through the steps together.
First the before pictures we have to remove the seats from the boat and save any hardware we find. Many times there are rusted bolts and hinges which have to be replaced. We always use stainless steel replacement parts because anything less will rust again. Next, we have to strip the skins. This is the least favorite part because the process can messy. The foam can contain water the material can be moldy slimy dirty the wood bases can be rotted wet or even broken sometimes. So we begin buy pulling all the hardware, removing thousands of staples, and removing the skins. Finally, we can take the stitching apart and cut patterns for the new cushion covers . Then comes my favorite part the creative step of choosing a new color format for the boat this customer was cool with just plain white to keep the costs down. But here at Charley’s Canvas we don’t make beautifying your boat expensive we hope you let your creative juices flow and help us create the boat of your dreams.

Just returned from a well needed rest. Juanita and I are both avid fishermen so we spent our time in a boat on Big a Wolf Lake and as you can see there were some results

Working in Belleville this week. Juanita and I enjoyed our week off upnorth at the cabin. Caught a few fish too including a 35" pike which we did not get a picture of. We had no net and did not want him to die bringing him in to the cabin. We mostly catch and release anyway.

Working up in Detroit Beach this week. Restoring the seating in a third generation family owned and operated Restaurant and pizzeria. Gotta love these 40,50,60+ year old mom & pop restaurants where you can find such great character and even greater food!! This beautiful mini Bayliner is for sale only $4000. Engine runs like a champ and trailor is in top shape too. Comes complete with new Bimini top. The only expense is about $500 in reupholstering which I would be more than happy to help the new owner with. Really a pretty little boat!
