Such pronounced achievements cannot go unnoticed.

The dock item is early on the agenda, #3 under Public Hearings, Ordnance No. 2017-64.
Without an ordinance docks will become dilapidated, deteriorated, and structurally unsound or a safety hazard and cause an unsightly appearance.

To Palm Bay City Council, We, the undersigned, are opposed to changing or deleting the current ordinance 2002-71 related to dock length and maintenance. We call upon Palm Bay policymakers to promote a healthy environment and don't allow excessive length docks that will permanently scar...

Friends and ALL Brevard citizens please read & share our message.
SAVE OUR SHORELINE
This coming Thursday Sept 7th at 6:00pm, Palm Bay City Council will face an issue vital to the future of our city’s reputation, environmental future and beautification. City Council will hear public comments and then vote on whether to change or remove the existing city ordinance regulating Boat Dock Length. Currently this ordinance is at 250 feet with this vote deciding whether or not to allow 500 foot docks.
At risk is how Palm Bay will maintain its position as a desirable place to live as well as how it integrates into the massive efforts underway to im-prove our irreplaceable estuary in the Indian Lagoon.
If this effort passes, it would severely and permanently scar the shoreline of Palm Bay and create numerous problems for marine life and boaters.
Please call and send an e-mail to each City Council member listed below, informing them that you are opposed to changing or deleting the current ordinance.
LEAVE OUR SHORELINE ALONE!

The City Management has elected to bring this matter to City Council to try to minimize damages for a wrong they committed; issuing a permit in error to ONE citizen. If it is necessary to settle with the wronged home-owner, then do it!
SAVE OUR SHORELINE
The existing ordinance was established after much thought and consid-eration. It has prevented Palm Bay from becoming an aquatic rat’s nest like Fort Lauderdale or Miami.
Why scar the shoreline of Palm Bay? Once it happens it cannot be re-versed.
Palm Bay waterfront homeowners all rely upon the City continuing to en-force the 250 foot limit to keep its promise and save their views and up-hold property values.
Why change the ordnance for this single case? It has been with us for over fifteen years. This isn’t fair to existing and compliant homeowners.
Removal of this ordnance will cause lawsuits between neighbors and the City.
The City will be liable for damages to people who purchased property re-lying upon the city ordnance. Some of which were denied a permit be-cause of the ordnance. This is a Government overreach!
Don’t change the code, enforce it. Support our beauti-ful shoreline! Let future homeowners know that Palm Bay is a city that keeps its word!
