Overview
Picks up, transport, and deliver freight, not to include hazardous materials, by driving a final mile, non-CDL vehicle.
Responsibilities
Here are the key things you will need to have
A High School Diploma or GED
A valid Driver's License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
At least 6 months of driving experience, to include a personal motor vehicle
Able to pass a DOT physical.
Qualifications
What you’ll do on a typical day
Responsible for the safe and timely transportation of freight from origin to destination
Load and unload shipments, either individually or with assistance, with or without mechanical freight handling equipment
Perform occasional lifting, pulling, and carrying of freight
Inspects vehicle for defects and safe operating condition before, during, and after trips and submits a written Vehicle Condition Report (VCR) on the condition of the vehicle at the end of each trip or tour of duty
Check shipping papers to determine the nature of load to ensure hazardous materials are not present
Ensure that all shipping documentation (e.g. manifest, security seal sheet, bills of lading, shipping orders, freight bills, etc.) required to move with shipments is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies shipment when delivered
Properly handle and complete all necessary paperwork related to vehicle operations and freight movements
