I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted—turns out running Bigfoot Canoe Rental and working a full-time job at the same time means something has to give… and unfortunately it’s my posting skills 😅

As we kick off the season, I wanted to give everyone a heads up: until further notice, shuttle services will only be running Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. That’s mostly because I’m short on help this summer (apparently Bigfoot called in sick and never came back).

I’m still here and ready to get you out on the water—it just might take a weekend to make it happen!

With the rain yesterday and last night, the river flow is back above 80CFS for the time being. Get your kayaking in this weekend while it lasts!

Just down the road from us are these awesome rental units conveniently located on the Yellow River. Beautiful views of the river and bluffs, definitely worth checking out!

This shows just how fast and how much a river can rise after just an inch and a half of local heavy rain. The Yellow River went from 180 Cubic Feet Per Second Sunday morning (May 14th) to over 2,000CFS in the evening.

The flooded Mississippi backing up into the Effigy Mounds area gave these three guys a lot of extra ground to explore on their 4 day 3 night adventure of the Yellow River. Even though temperatures aren't exactly ideal, they still made the best of their trip!
