May the 4th be with you. And if your engine has gone to the dark side, you know where to find us.

Case in point—this valve seat dropped into the combustion chamber. All of that debris you're seeing is what's left of it. This engine came to us in rough shape and we are getting this owner back on the water with a full rebuild.

For this MAN short block swap on a '65 Monte Carlo, we custom fabricated a lifting bracket in house—designed specifically for the tight confines of this engine bay. The low profile lift allows us to safely lower a short block or fully dressed engine into spaces where standard rigging simply won't fit.

This is what having a machine shop on site means in practice. No waiting, no outsourcing, no workarounds—just a solution built for the job in front of us.

Every component matters when you're rebuilding at this level. A camshaft gear like this one tells the story of the work—precision machining, proper tolerances, and attention to detail that you won't see once the engine is back together. But we will.

Which anode is right for your boat? It depends on where you are.

Not all anodes are created equal and using the wrong one means your boat isn't protected. Here's a quick breakdown:

ZINC / Saltwater. The classic choice for ocean and coastal boating. Dense, reliable, and built for high-conductivity saltwater environments.

ALUMINUM / Brackish water. The most versatile option and the go-to for Chesapeake Bay boaters. Works in both saltwater and brackish water, lasts longer than zinc, and is a cost-effective choice for most of our customers.

MAGNESIUM / Freshwater. The only anode with enough reactivity to work in low-conductivity fresh water. Not interchangeable with the others, use it only in fresh water.

Spring is here and it’s time to get back on the water! 🌊 Before you head out for your first trip of the season, here’s a quick checklist to make sure your vessel is ready:

✅ Check engine oil, coolant, and fuel systems
✅ Inspect belts, hoses, and through-hulls
✅ Test your battery and electrical systems
✅ Check safety equipment—flares, life jackets, fire extinguisher
✅ Run your bilge pump
