Another Nanni repower in the books—this time on a Grand Banks 36.
This was a fun one from start to finish. We tore out the original steel fuel tanks after finding rust holes in the tops, cut them apart for removal, and installed new custom aluminum tanks that fit through the salon window. While everything was apart, we fiberglassed in brand-new fuel tank supports, installed all new fuel lines and fuel manifolds, and built the fuel system from the ground up to ensure reliability for years to come.
The original Ford Lehman had reached the point where a repair just didn't make sense, so we removed it and repowered the boat with a Nanni N4.115 paired with a ZF 45A transmission. The new engine was brought in through the salon window, custom engine mount brackets were fabricated to adapt it to the existing beds, a new propeller shaft was installed, and the entire drivetrain was aligned and commissioned.
To finish it off, we built a custom wood panel to match the original interior so the installation looked like it belonged there from day one.
The best part? Every bit of this project was completed in-house by our team—from cutting out the old tanks and fiberglassing new supports to fabricating brackets, building the fuel system, installing the engine and shaft, aligning the drivetrain, and completing the finish carpentry.
