Boat Ramp Etiquette: The Dos and Don'ts for a Swift Boat Launch

There's no quicker way to spark confrontation than to be the person that hogs the boat ramp doing things you should have done in your driveway or in the staging area. Spare yourself and others the unnecessary frustrations at the boat ramp by following these simple ramp etiquette dos and don'ts.

Dos:
 DO use the staging area for pre-launch preparations.
 DO mount your navigation lights before approaching the ramp.
 DO respect the traffic lines.
 DO turn off your headlights while getting into position at the boat
ramp to prevent the headlights from pointing straight at the boaters
that are backing down the ramp.
Don’ts:
 DON’T socialize while at the ramp. Get your boat launched and catch
up later with your friends.
 DON’T hog the ramp. Stay in your designated lane.
 DON'T park your boat in the way of others trying to use the boat
ramp.
 DON'T tie-up to other people's boats without first asking for
permission.

1983 Mercury V-150 outboard. 130 lb compression on all 6. Motor is in excellent running condition & has 2:1 lower unit. Boyesen stage 2 carbon fiber reeds. Replaced stator & rectifier, power packs, starter, water pump & thermostats in July 2017. Also rebuilt carbs & fuel pump same time.

$2800 for complete outboard
$2400 for powerhead

This engine has cleaned & rebuilt carburetors & fuel pump. Compression on all 4 cylinders 140lb-145lb. Motor still has factory bands indicating that it had not been rebuilt.
