5/15-5/18 3Day Deepwater Charter

Our first offshore trip for the Viking Fivestar this year had a questionable weather forecast so we decided to take the Viking Starship to ensure comfort on the trip. We had a great trip with a lot of quality Tiles up to 48lbs!! We also had some Po***ck, Blueline Tiles, Hake, Rosies and a Bluefin to round out the catch. The first day we had great conditions and got to fish some deeper water and search for new grounds that produced a pile of big Tiles! Day 2 we had wind against tide all day long which made for difficult drift conditions but we still put a great day together of a variety of species.
The offshore fishing has been off to a great start this year and we are just getting started!! We has some availability on some up coming offshore trips on both the Viking Starship and the Viking Fivestar so get booked while you can and get in on the great fishing! It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Captain Paul G. Forsberg, the pioneer of the Viking Fleet.
Paul took the reins of the Viking Fleet from his father, Captain Carl Forsberg, and built the company to what it is today. Paul designed and built the 104Ft Viking Star in 1970, and then later in 1977 built the “Queen of the Fleet’” 144Ft steel Viking Starship. He also built the Viking Fivestar alongside his son, Captain Steven Forsberg Sr., and his grandsons Captain Steven Forsberg Jr and Captain Carl Forsberg. Captain Paul discovered almost all of the proven fishing grounds off Montauk, Block Island, and further out to Georges Banks… grounds that the Viking Boats still fish today. He will be remembered by everyone who fished with the Viking Fleet, his family and friends, and everyone else in the party boat industry, as well as the commercial fishing industry. Paul passed away at 86 years old surrounded by family and friends while telling seafaring tales of his vast time on the ocean. He will be missed. “Fair tides and following seas, Captain.”

By popular demand we had to add another 3 Day Eastern Canyon Exploratory Tile trip. This trip is to the far eastern canyons that are out of range for most boats. We will be search new grounds for trophy golden Tiles and other deep water species.
