This is why your small town business matters more than you will ever know. 👇

The person in this photo with me is Christy. She started as an employee. Then became a vendor in my shop. Then taught classes for our community. And somewhere along the way became one of my closest friends.

That is what small town business does. It does not just create customers. It creates real connections. Real friendships. Real community.

You run into your customers at the grocery store. You know their names. They know yours. They do not just buy from you once and move on. They come back. They bring their friends from out of town. They tell everyone they know about you because they are genuinely proud to support someone in their community.

That is not something you can buy with an advertising budget.

I saw it every single year running Wander Fest. What started as 20 vendors grew to over 70 in just four years. Not because of a big marketing budget. Because our community showed up. Familiar faces every year dressed in costumes, dancing to the music, doing crafts, and supporting each other’s handmade creations. Some of my own customers became vendors sharing their businesses for the first time.

The community did not just attend Wander Fest. They built it with me.

Small town business owners also have something else most people overlook. Each other. You collaborate. You cheer each other on. You send customers down the street to your neighbor because you know they will take care of them. And they do the same for you.

So I went ahead and blocked the person who left that threatening comment on my page. Not today, not ever. We don't do that here. 🚫

But honestly? It got me thinking about what better time to talk about protection crystals! Because if the universe is going to send that kind of energy our way, we're going to be ready for it. 🔮✨

Here are four of my absolute favorites when it comes to protection:

🖤 Black Tourmaline
This one is my ride-or-die for protection. If you only have one crystal for this purpose, make it this one. It creates a shield around you and your space that negative energy just bounces right off of.
How I love to use it: Pop one near your front door, carry a piece in your pocket when you know you're walking into a tough situation, or wear it as jewelry so it's with you all day.

🖤 Obsidian
Obsidian is powerful and it doesn't play around. Think of it like a psychic vacuum cleaner that pulls in and neutralizes all that dark, heavy energy around you.
How I love to use it: Hold it during meditation when you really need to let go of something. Keep it in your home or workspace to absorb negativity before it reaches you. A black obsidian sphere is also amazing for scrying if that's your thing!

🖤 Onyx
Onyx is all about strength and standing your ground. When people try to shake you, drain you, or intimidate you, onyx reminds you of your own power.
How I love to use it: Carry it when you're going through something stressful, keep it on your desk to protect your energy at work, or wear it daily as a reminder that you are solid, steady, and untouchable.

💜 Amethyst
Don't let the pretty purple fool you because amethyst is a serious protector. It takes that heavy negative energy and transmutes it into something positive. It's also just incredibly calming, which honestly we could all use more of.
How I love to use it: Keep one on your nightstand for protected, restful sleep. Place a cluster in your living space to continuously cleanse the vibe. Hold it whenever you're feeling overwhelmed and need to come back to center.

✨ One more thing! Don't forget to cleanse these babies regularly. Smoke cleansing, sound cleansing, or selenite are all wonderful ways to keep them working at full power for you.
