Boat Club
How it Works
From May 1st – October 1st, a simple click on our reservation site reserves your use of a 25’ boat. Membership is of a Spouse/Partner relationship, business associates, friends, siblings, and kids are not included. Capacity is per rating on the side placard in the boat. Reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis with a maximum 2 reservations on file at any one time. Reservation times consist of a morning, afternoon, or evening slot. At the time of your reservation, check-in at the Floating Toy Boat Club desk to receive your keys. The boat will be fueled and waiting at our pier.

What’s Included

1. Boat instruction and safety course.
2. Insurance, maintenance, cleaning and storage.
3. Towable and jackets on request.

Membership Requirements

1. Must be 21 years of age or older.
2. Valid driver’s license and good driving record (driving record may be reviewed by insurance co).
3. Proof of auto insurance.
4. Proof of proficiency on boat club vessels.
5. Boater Education Card/Certificate required for anyone born on and after Jan 1, 1989.
6. Credit Card authorization form completed prior to first reservation.

Usage Guidelines

1. Compliance with Membership Agreement.
2. Must follow all State, Local, and Federal boating laws.
3. Must place a credit card on file. The card will be charged accordingly for the fuel consumed. The charge will be processed within one week after rental.
4. Financially responsible for damaging or losing club property and equipment (including boats).
5. Ensure that boats are properly secured when docked or anchored.
6. Must follow check-in and check-out procedures.
7. Only the 2 Boat Club members may operate boats. One of the two must be present at all times.
8. Operators must never be under the influence of alcohol or drugs while operating boats.
9. Operators are responsible for their passengers and guests following boat club rules.
10. Member is responsible for removing all personal items and refuse when returning boats.
11. Member is responsible to ensure all electrical and mechanical devices, such as GPS, radio, the motor is off and secured when returning boats.
12. Boat club provides the required number of PFD’s per boat; members are responsible for providing fitted PFD’s for children 12 and under. The only exception is if a towable is requested – the club will supply a jacket.
13. No pets allowed on boats at any time.
14. No trailering or removing vessels from water is allowed.
15. Boat club has the authority to cancel reservations in inclement weather. Safety of members and equipment is our first priority.
16. Boats are to stay in a designated areas. Failure to comply will lead to a charge or forfeit of membership.

Can anyone become a member?
Members must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license. All members must pass a brief safety course before taking out any of the boats.

How do I become a member?
The enrollment process starts with a visit to Floating Toy and a tour of the boats. Call our office at (608) 921-9453 and speak to John for a no-hassle consultation.

How do I reserve a boat?
Members can make reservations 24 hours a day, seven days a week from any device with internet access, or directly from our reservation app on your smartphone. If you do not have access to the internet, you can call us at 608-921-9453 to make a reservation.

Can I make a last-minute decision to use a boat?
Boats not booked will be released 1 hour before scheduled departure time. You can book the boat for the open time slot without decreasing your allotted 2 maximum bookings at one time.

Is there a limit to how many times I can reserve a boat?
Our Boat Club membership is unlimited use, availability permitting.

How do I know boats will be available?
The industry standard has boat clubs running at a 10-to-1 member-to-boat ratio.

How long can I stay out on the water?
Reservations will be a 4, 5, or 6-hour timeframe and the departure times are still to be determined. The time slots may be changed for seasonal conditions or management decisions.

Is there a charge for canceling a reservation?
Generally, no, however, cancellation of reservations shall be subject to a cancellation fee from time to time. Members who misuse or abuse the reservation privileges may have their membership privileges revoked by Club.

Who cleans and maintains the boats?
All Boat Club boats are professionally maintained and repaired by certified marine technicians. Additionally, each vessel is thoroughly cleaned and inspected so it will be ready for you to enjoy. Floating Toy Boat Club has all boats professionally treated for the elimination and prevention of the COVID-19 and other viruses.

Do you have additional equipment available?
Yes! We offer unlimited use of coast guard rated life vests & tubes for our members.

Is the insurance covered by the Club?
Yes! Our insurance policy is specifically aligned with our business and covers major damage and liability. You are responsible for the deductible.

Can I bring guests?
Yes! You can bring as many guests as the boat capacity allows.

Can my guests use the club boats without me being there?
No, but they will continue to be your friend as long as you are the boat captain!

Are there any hidden fees or surprises I should know about?
No. You pay for the gas that you use. If you damage the boat, you will be responsible for the deductible. Cleaning fees may also apply depending on the return condition of the boat.

Who fuels the boat?
Floating Toy Boat Club will fuel the boat up and the member will be charged for the amount of fuel used.

Do I need to be an experienced captain to join the club?
No prior experience is necessary or required. We will coach you, train you, and empower you to enjoy boating as much as we do.

How long does my membership last?
Once you pay your membership fee, you are considered a member in good standing. Memberships last for a full calendar year and automatically renews.

How hard is it to get boat reservations on the weekends?
We recommend making reservations for weekend days 2 to 3 weeks in advance in the Spring & Summer, 1-2 weeks in the Fall. We strongly suggest taking advantage of our 3-month advance reservations policy for special events such as holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

May I join with my friend/ partner /sibling /parent /etc.?
Spouses/Partners are included free of charge. Business Associates, Friends, Siblings, and Children are not included

What size boats do I have access to?
Our current fleet of boats range is 25'.
We encourage you to stop by anytime to see the quality of our boats firsthand.

Will my dues increase from year to year?
Your due amount is locked in for the term (1 year) of your membership. Your membership automatically renews and if there are any rate adjustments you will be notified.2/9/2021
