So glad Travis and I were able to spend this last day of Spring Break hiking together before the cold air moves back in Sunday night. Cane Creek has really improved the signage and bridges throughout the preserve, which makes the trails even more enjoyable to explore. 2 1/2 hours covered about 4 miles today.

We’re already looking forward to going back later this spring when everything greens up even more. It’s such a great place to spend time outdoors and soak in the beauty of nature.

And as usual, we ended at Slim Chickens before heading home.

Saturday afternoon fun at Cane Creek Nature Preserve in Tuscumbia, Alabama.

We logged 2 hours and 40 minutes and so close to 5 miles—so close that Travis almost had us walking in circles just to make it to 5.

The weather was just right—not too hot, not too cold. A light drizzle came and went, but it never slowed us down or took away from the day.

Mostly, it was just good to be together—walking, talking, laughing, and enjoying the trails. Simple moments like this are the ones that end up meaning the most.
