🚨 We’re looking to quickly fill ten more vacancies for bus drivers!

📆 The TCS Transportation Department will be hosting another job fair on Monday, June 8, 2026 from 9:00am until 1:00pm where applicants can come receive help in-person to apply online!

You’ll need a credit or debit card to pay $44.95 to schedule fingerprints as well. This and the cost for your CDL class B with S & P endorsement will be reimbursed once you are hired full-time! 💰

Starting pay is $23.80/hour for new drivers. Experienced drivers can make up to a step 3 on the pay scale. 🤑

We offer paid training, a $2,000 sign-on bonus, great benefits, air-conditioned buses & a great work environment with ample opportunity for additional income with field trips and mid-day runs!

As we wrap up another incredible school year, the Tuscaloosa City Schools Transportation Management team would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing bus drivers, bus aides, and mechanics for your dedication, hard work, and commitment to safely transporting our students each and every day. Your efforts truly make a difference, and we are grateful for all that you do for our schools and community. 💚

We also want to thank our TCS families for trusting us with your students throughout the year. It is a responsibility we never take lightly, and we appreciate the support and partnership you have shown our department. 🚌

While one school year is ending, we are already excitedly preparing for what’s ahead! We are looking forward to a successful Summer Learning Program and are already hard at work planning and preparing for the 2026-2027 school year.

NOTICE

According to the Alabama Administrative Code r.290-8-9-8 (2) (h) an education agency must retain a copy of records for five (5) years after the termination of the special education program for which they were used. At the end of the five (5) year retention period, the education agency shall provide written notice to parents to inform them that the special education records are no longer needed and will be destroyed.

This serves as notice that the destruction of special education and gifted records belonging to students born with the birth year 2000. Legal guardian, or former student if age 19 or older, must pick up the records at the central office located at 1210 Almon Avenue, Tuscaloosa, AL, or notify the Tuscaloosa City Schools, within 10 days from the date of this publication. 🚌 Stay Connected With Your Child’s Bus Using Stopfinder!

Tuscaloosa City Schools Transportation encourages all parents and guardians to activate their Stopfinder app subscription to stay informed about their child’s bus route for the 2026-2027 school year.

With Stopfinder, you can:
✔ Track your child’s bus route and stop location
✔ Receive instant notifications and alerts about delays or route changes
✔ Know when the bus is approaching your child’s stop

This will be the quickest way to receive bus information for the 2026-2027 school year - info such as bus number, stop location & stop times!

If your student is currently assigned to a bus for the 25-26 school year, they will be automatically rolled over for next year. If your address changes, you will need to update that with your local school secretary.

The TCS Transportation Department would like to thank everyone who is already utilizing Stopfinder! This was our first full year using this new software and we are constantly working on improving it. We appreciate your patience and grace as we work to improve clearer, quicker communication between us and you!
