Responsibilities for Construction Project Engineer
- Determine and define scope of work and deliverables
- Predict resources needed to complete project
- Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and other regulatory prerequisites
- Draft and submit budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
- Manage costs in order to meet budget
- Manage construction schedule and activities
- Issue progress updates as needed regarding costs and timelines
- Ensure work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes
- Collect topographic study

Qualifications for Construction Project Engineer
- 3 years of experience in project engineering within earthwork construction
- Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction and engineering
- Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs
- High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
- Strong leadership and management skills

Compensation: Estimated minimum $1200 per week, Weekly Payroll, Direct Deposit, Plus Benefits

Position Summary: Transport materials as scheduled by the dispatcher.

Schedule: Hours will vary from Monday- Friday, some weekends may be required as needed, approximately 10 to 12-hour shifts

Equipment:
Flat beds, Low decks, 9-axle

Truck Driver Responsibilities:
- Drive and operate trucks.
- Haul materials from dirt pits, rock quarries, hot plants, batch plants, etc. to customer job sites.
- Communicating and coordinating with dispatch
- Safety
* Pre-inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues.
* Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
- Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Accurate completion of documentation as required. i.e., Shipment or freight documentation, timecards, vehicle repair inspections, daily equipment/vehicle inspection reports, etc.

*Position Overview:
This position is responsible for managing the trucking operations of G&J Heavy Haul’s fleet to ensure the efficient and effective movement of our customers' material or assets. This includes direct and indirect supervision of management staff and professional drivers. The Operations Manager will perform quality control to ensure customer satisfaction. This position will also be responsible for hiring, development, coaching, terminations, handling complaints, discussing challenges, and working with ownership to develop action plans to improve driver performance, profitability, and customer service.

*Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has supervisory responsibilities for dispatchers, drivers, and clerks. This includes responsibility for employee performance reviews and feedback, providing motivation and encouragement, scheduling time off, employee grievances or complaints, and pay changes. May be required to perform other duties to cover staff shortages or address customer needs.

· Continually assess the service level and provide recommendations to ownership regarding opportunities to improve operational performance.
· Monitor and manage Key Performance Indicators and cost factors impacting operational effectiveness.
· Effectively communicate with Ownership on a regular basis regarding core transportation issues impacting the customer and the effectiveness and efficiency of the fleet.
· Manage all routing modifications to ensure the business is utilizing equipment and staff efficiently.
· Build and maintain a positive work environment where team members and their contributions are recognized and valued.
· Promote and monitor employee safety and take proactive steps to create a positive safety culture.
· Embrace, promote and lead continuous improvement efforts.
· Organize and schedule all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.
· Set and monitor productivity, service, and safety targets for each route and driver.
· Work with hourly paid drivers to make sure productivity is commensurate with hours worked.
· Establish and maintain a positive relationship with all G&J staff. Create a driver experience that is number one in the industry.
· Other duties as assigned.

*Qualifications:
· 3-5 years of experience in the Transportation Industry (Transportation management, dispatching, customer interaction.
· Knowledge of safe working practices and DOT regulations.
· Critical thinking skills to evaluate staffing levels and adjust accordingly.
· Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Solid written and oral skills with a strong ability to work with others.
· Ability to communicate effectively with both team members and customers.
· Experience in managing a large group of employees.
· Prior leadership training and/or experience.
· Preferred candidates will have working knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance.
· Language Skills: Excellent communication skills required both written and verbal. Must be able to effectively communicate well under pressure. Bilingual-Spanish, a plus.
