Today marks a somber day for the aviation community, as we mourn the loss of Eric Lear, an exceptionally skilled fixed-wing and paramotor pilot, and a cherished friend of Torchport Airpark.

For many years, Eric and his wife Jade have been an integral part of our Memorial Weekend celebrations, volunteering their time and resources at Torchport, offering discovery flights to those interested.

Although Eric had been looking forward to flying his Piper Cub at this year's fly-in, his brave fight against cancer regrettably kept him from attending.

Eric's passing leaves a significant void in the hearts of all who knew him. We ask that you please keep Jade Lear and his family, in your thoughts and prayers.

You will be forever missed, Eric! 💔
