David River first experienced boating in his pr***en years with his step-father who was an avid fisherman. David learned the ins and outs of boating by spending many weekends upon their 17' Wellcraft. When they weren't fishing, we spent many hours cleaning our boat and preparing it for our next adventure. In his mid-20's, David met a friend who fished commercially for clams and he ventued his care
er upon the water as he learned how to to provide for his family from the Indian River. His love for adventure continually drew him to the wind, water, and waves. In his early 30's he purchased his first jet ski and it quickly became a passion. Instead of going to football practice or ball practice, their family hobby was jet skis. David still recalls his three sons sitting in his lap as toddlers while he taught them how to drive jet skis. Having raised them on jet skis, it only seemed natural that when he moved to Nashville, TN in 2007, that he was destined to open a jet ski rental company. Starting with one jet ski in his garage and an ad on Craigslist, he turned his hobby into a thriving business. In 2011 he partnered with Nashville Shores Lakeside Resort to bring his jet ski rental business - Music City Water Sports - to all of Nashville.
As Music City Water Sports quickly grew, the services were expanded to include kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, and fly boarding. After seven years of exponential growth, in 2015 he sold Music City Water Sports to pursue other passions and take some much needed time to rest, write, and recoup. In 2015, being single and feeling a calling to 'waterlife,' he purchased his first houseboat, and he moved upon the water. He completely restored the 36' Gibson and it became home for the next five years. In 2019 he recognized that he missed his passion of putting people on the water, so in the Spring, he launched Liquid Paradise: a pontoon rental business that serviced both Percy Priest Lake and Old Hickory Lakes. As Liquid Paradise grew, he added additional services such as boat restorations and boat sales to his business model. As Liquid Paradise grew, he realized that one of his greatest passions was taking old boats and restoring and upgrading to give them new life. In October of 2020, he purchased a 50' Gibson houseboat and began restoring it. Within two months, he had 65% of interior fully remodeled and it was extremely cozy. In December of 2020, David's son Joshua moved from Pensacola, FL to live with his brother in Nashville. Since he needed a job and David needed help, he offered him a position helping to restore boats. Today, they form the team that make up 'Liquid Paradise.' Together they are the team that rent, restore, and upgrade boats in Central Tennessee. If you would like to see some of our exceptional work please go to our website @
